Child and Youth Finance International is built on the vision of Jeroo Billimoria – an awarded serial social entrepreneur who has founded several successful organizations. Prominent among these are Childline India, Childhelpline International and Aflatoun.

Through these organizations, Jeroo has had the opportunity to work directly with children and youth. One of her first organizations, ChildLine India, set up toll- free helplines for children across India, given voice to marginalized children through the 18 million calls it received.

Understanding that true systems change comes through global efforts, Jeroo went on to found ChildHelpline International (CHI). CHI created a network of helpline services and today reaches 133 countries and has answered 140 million calls. Through this, Jeroo and her CHI team were able to incite policy change - The United Nations International Telecommunication Union adopted a Supplement recommending one number for all toll-free helplines in all countries.

Wanting to get to the root of the problems that children voiced to the helpline, Jeroo promoted building financial capability in children. Having piloted a program in social and financial education, she then set up Aflatoun, which has succeeded in providing social and financial education to 1 million children in 75 countries across the world over the past three, short years.

Clearly, Jeroo is no stranger to creating global change. With Child and Youth Finance International, she is set to continue the work for empowering children through financial capability and once again demonstrate the power of building international partnerships to create impactful change.
