We dream that all children have a safe place to save their money, and that they can manage that money on their own.

Why? Because we see this as a structured solution to removing poverty.

After all, inability to manage financial resources is what drives individuals deeper into poverty. It opens them up to financial exploitation and vulnerability.

We say – give people the skills to manage their resources - and start young! Put the power in the hands of children and youth. Instill in them positive financial habits. Allow them to make smart choices with their money. Let them better understand what financial institutions can offer them, and develop healthy relationships early on. No more families turning to loan sharks. No more cash saved under the mattress.

We know the answer will not come overnight. The current situation is that almost 50% of people in the world do not have access to financial services. Worse still, that number shoots up to 90% when talking about children and young people. But we have brought together the leading experts from across the world to tackle this challenge and ensure that, together, we can bring this dream to life.

Today, guided by international experts and pioneering thought leaders, we have set the first goal for the movement:

Provide financial access and education to 100 million children and youth in 100 countries by 2015.
