Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI) aims to increase financial inclusion, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship among young people throughout Europe and Central Asia.

Global Money Week has been an incredible success among European countries! GMW 2017 saw a significant increase in participation - over 48 countries from Europe & Central Asia joined the celebrations, under tha patronage of OECD. The official launch of GMW took place at the Bundesbank in Frankfurt, and a special GMW celebration in Amsterdam was joined by Queen Máxima of the Netherlands and partners. CYFI, its partners and EFSE-DF also carried out a research study on financial behavior and the attitudes of youth in seven countries of South-Eastern Europe during GMW 2016, the final report of which can be found here.

In 2015 CYFI established South-Eastern European Regional Working Group for Youth Financial Education and Financial Inclusion that serves as the place for sharing best practices, exchanging experiences, identifying technical assistance opportunities to support action plans development and implementation. More than 20 governmental institutions from 8 countries of the region (Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia) are members of the Working Group as of 2017. The first constitutive meeting took place in Sinaia, Romania in November 2015, hosted by the National Bank of Romania, with the following up regional training on National Financial Education Strategies organized by CYFI and GIZ in Podgorica in April 2016, hosted by the Central Bank of Montenegro. The 2017 meeting of the Working Group took place in Kosovo in October 2017.

In 2015 the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee invited young entrepreneurs and potential investors to the European launch and pitching event of Ye! - the latest initiative of Child & Youth Finance International aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs. Later that year, YE! the platform was officially launched under the patronage of G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion in Turkey. Since its creation, Ye! has conducted Boost Camp programmes and pitching events for young entrepreneurs in The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Kosovo, Turkey and Ukraine, as well as holding global award ceremonies in both Germany and Sweden.

In 2016-2017 Schoolbank project was implemented with the support of EFSE Development Facility in 3 countries: Romania, Macedonia and Moldova. In Georgia the National Bank of Georgia is also coordinating the SchoolBank project with the local banks, Ministry of Education and Science and the National Youth and Children Palace since 2015.
